The Blue Shadows with Billy Cowsill (RIP) and Jeffery Hatcher. I first met Billy when we were playing in Edmonton Canada in the mid 70s. Sorelle Saidman brought Billy to the Yellowhead Inn where we were gigging and introduced him to the band. Years later Bill reminded me that we went upstairs to my hotel room for drinks after the gig....I was extremely drunk and crazy and decided to throw my telecaster out the hotel window....it turned out the window was plexy-glass and the guitar bounced back into the middle of the room.....it blew Billys mind. Billy and I had a sorta strange friendship over the years....sometimes we would be in the studio recording amazing tracks with Billy doing incredible three part back ground vocals (They were some of the best recordings Ive done and they were never released.) Other times we would be a bit at odds with each other over certain things. No matter what our differences I always respected the man and his monstrous talent. Yes for anyone who is wondering he was one of The Cowsills (Hair) Peace Billy...I hope your somewhere good.
