The Boat House is done! More pictures to come! In the last month, 12 to 16 hour days, I spent decorating, cleaning, and hauling off the last of Dottie Leas things. It is a bitter sweet. I miss it already. Always something rewarding and interesting to do and learn. The memories filled my mind as I placed each other and every item into their newly designated home. I knew exactly where I found them all, mind you! The journey is something I would never trade. The tears I spilled, the blood Ive shed, has been worth every painful effort. What I have gained, there is no price worthy of its value. History discovered, History come alive and History yet to be lived! Dotties story did not die with her, she has only begun living. Not in of by herself, but Life as it was for all. I hope with this house, it will be a reminder that Life was hard, but Life was good, Life gives and Life takes. As I have had to let go of a Masterpiece, after I have given my life for its birth, it now graces the guests of Wildwood Springs Lodge and others with the Joy of relaxation, entertainment and TLC to rejuvenate the spirit. I have prayed that all who enter finds the richest blessings that I have found in life at the 1922 original Boat House of Wildwood Springs Lodge. Thank all of you who believed in me and supported my devoted effort. The whole story is in the making and I have hopes of sharing with you through the winter months. In her home I have placed old photos of her First Love, her WWII Soldier Husband and then her life with Bud Lea of Steelville, as well as in the Soda Fountain and Main St. Antiques shop for all to enjoy or purchase.
