The CCAP Synod of Livingstonia has categorically refuted contents of an article appearing on an online publication Nyasatimes alleging that the Synod is totally against calls for Malawi to adopt a federal system of government. The article by the online publication quotes the Synods leadership as having condemend both secession and federalism calls, following a recent meeting at its Secretariat, with Special Advisor to the President on National Unity and Parliamentary Affairs, Symon Vuwa Kaunda. Speaking in a seperate interview with VoL, Moderator for the Synod Reverend Douglas Chipofya, categorically refuted claims made by the article. While critical of secession, the Moderator added if the citizenry finds federalism necessary, the Synod will be ready to support the ideology.
