The CIA said Ali Hassan Joho and his brother, Abu Joho are also linked to terrorism and wildlife poaching in Kenya. The CIA said they intercepted a Phone Call between Joho and Al Shabaab leader, Hassan Dahir Aweys, immediately after Mpeketoni Massacre in Lamu. They also said they intercepted a call between Joho and a Senior Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) leader who allegedly led Mpeketoni massacre. The Agency said Al Shabaab and MRC are working together to destabilize the Coast Region. The CIA also concurs with Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta that the Lamu Attack was political and was funded by members allied to Raila Odinga’s party Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). Concerning the public spat between Joho and Mombasa County Commissioner,Nelson Marwa, the CIA opines that it increased after Kenya Navy Officers intercepted 341.5kgs of heroin hidden in a diesel tank of a vessel from Pakistan which belonged to Joho.
