~♦~ The Cafe Corner ~♦~ the place where a Woman can catch up with Sistars and share from the heart♥ From the GIRLFRIEND CARDS, --> the QUESTION for today..... CAN YOU TELL A STORY ABOUT YOURSELF THAT WOULD SURPRISE EVERYONE? yes I can.... I played basketball in school, this particular story took place in my 8th grade, Intermediate school. I entered a FREE THROW contest and won FIRST PLACE for the first round which I then went on to REGIONALS, but by then, I was now on crutches from having knee surgery. So I went to the next competition hobbling in on crutches. When it was my turn to go up to the free throw line, as some of the workers dragged a chair out there for me to lean on at any point if I so needed it, and it got pretty quiet in there, as I was standing there getting my balance, quieting my mind, and reminding myself NOT to fall forward, it might hurt. lol. Of course that was happening for everyone, we were shooting free throws! But there was this hmm--ing quiet that seem to say what everyone wasnt saying.....lol. What was this girl thinking... on crutches? and still wanting to compete? Did she really think she would make them? Well I sank 9 out of 10 and won that divisional competition too. Which advanced me to STATE. this is where my story ends..... due to other happenings in my life at that time, I wouldnt end up being the girl who WON STATE Free Throws on crutches.... oh we know I would have.... yet looking back, just even trying to get Regionals as I was fresh off an operating table, might be the story itself. lol. its interesting when you begin looking back over life and finding the MOMENTS when you really TOUCH YOURSELF in pretty awesome ways! soooo what about you??? do please share..... its our awareness of how we do HELP each other in all kinds of ways, as well as our appreciation for others that experience amazing moments reminding us that we too have that in our own lives, and if not right now...we will! ~☼~ Image Credit: Zen to Zany ~☼~ The Power of WOMAN // Within The Healing Light
