The Caring Tree of Big Bend Hospice invites all children, ages 5 -12, who have experienced the death of a loved one to a their Back to School BBQ on August 13th. The BBQ is one of our Family Nights and open to families with school-aged children 5-18. All ages eat dinner together and take-part in activities that address the potential challenges of going back to school when someone you loved has died as well as strategies to help kids, teens and parents cope. There will also be teams from the TMH Animal Therapy group in attendance to offer support and comfort. The event is from 6:00-8:00 pm. The loss does not have to be recent and Parent/Guardian support sessions are also available during the session. The session is free of charge and provides a safe environment for education, support and compassion.
