The Carpenter by Kimi Gaines carpenter-noun 1. a person who builds or repairs wooden structures, as houses, scaffolds, Tthe Holy Spirit brought to my heart about Jesus in his fathers carpenter shop. Building things by hand, constructing mastpieces, repairing damaged pieces, with His hands He built houses. It brought to mind that Jesus rebuilds us, repairs us, He enters in to our house (heart, spirit & mind). Have you ever seen scaffolding being assembled? Its a process of stacking either wood or metal. As we grow in Christ, we start out as pieces of wood, building and molding like scaffolding. The more we spend time in the Word, in Worship and Praise, We develop into a masterpiece!! During the process of growth, nails, saws and and sanding take place making the piece beautiful. It is in the time of building that is the toughest. God has to reveal to us the things we need to change, it hurts and we dont like it. My dad was a carpenter by trade and I used to watch him build things around the house, and went to job sights to help clean up. His hands were rugged, felt tough and strong,they were cut, bruised, body aching from bending over. He worked hard. but the end what he created was the result of a masterpiece. Anything that is beautiful takes time...I think God wanted to show me this morning that everything I have experienced in my life started out like a piece of wood and as I grew in the Lord, all it trials and disappointments, pain and suffering was for my good, not my harm. Jesus is the Master Carpenter. Do not resist the nails of suffering, the sand paper to smooth out the places where God is changing us. He builds and rebuilds from the beginning till the end. Dont resist change...Let God build, repair and make a masterpiece of your life. Its not easy, but its worth it. After all Jesus hung on a wooden cross, built for Him to die for us..... Masterpiece-a persons greatest piece of work...Jesus makes the best out of us. Broken, needing Repair, Worn, Warped...He is the Carpenter of our lives.
