Since its foundation in 2006, the ICRPC has worked to become a constant presence in the main international forums for academic debate, in journals and conferences. As a result, it has become established as one of the most active producers of knowledge in the field of cultural heritage in southern Europe. ICRPC research has a clear multidisciplinary focus, covering the following disciplines in the areas of humanities and social sciences: social and cultural anthropology, archaeology, cultural management, history, history of art and museology. Research is carried out using the methodologies of the aforementioned disciplines, such as the ethnographic method, the archaeological method, an analysis of the supply and demand of cultural property, an analysis of archives and documentary sources, and theoretical reflection. Since its foundation in 2006, research at the ICRPC has been organised into four programmes that combine the various disciplines and methodologies mentioned above, which are used in different lines of research. The ICRPC’s research programmes are: 1. Processes of patrimonialisation;2. Uses of cultural heritage;3. Museology; 4. Cultural heritage management. The ICRPC’s participation in International projects has been centred on the areas of cultural tourism, heritage management, and the study and conservation of archaeological and natural heritage.
