The Center for Civil and Human Rights at Notre Dame was founded in 1973 by the Reverend Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C., then-president of Notre Dame and a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights from its inception during the Eisenhower Administration until 1973. It is founded on the belief that every human being, created in the image of God, has a dignity entitled to respect and protection. In all of its efforts, the Center stands in solidarity with the oppressed, the afflicted, and the vulnerable and seeks to secure their human rights and the conditions for their flourishing. #ProudtobeND Web: humanrights.nd.edu Twitter: @NDHumRts Facebook: on.fb.me/15ep8K1 YouTube: Founding: ntrda.me/1BDVmv4 Commitment to Human Dignity: youtu.be/WqljSPnC_r8 Now Is The Time: youtu.be/CpTY-Gv-EDM
