The Champion Soccer Academy presented by Little Kicks Soccer is a private special needs soccer program for kids ages 3-8 with Autism and other developmental disabilities. This new program is presented by the wildly popular Little Kicks Soccer program and will officially roll out in the Spring of 2015. Below, I have listed a few FAQs until we post this on our website. FAQs What is the format of these classes? These 45 minute classes will take place over 6 consecutive weeks in an indoor setting. For the safety of the children, this program will be a parent participation class. The anticipated cost of the class will range between $120-$135 for all 6 weeks, depending upon the cost of each individual facility where the class is held. What ages does this program cover? Champion Soccer Academy is for kids ages 3-8 with a formal diagnosis of a developmental disability. Who will be teaching the class? One of our experienced Little Kicks Soccer Senior coaches will lead this fun and exciting class. All of our coaches have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and have also had additional training by a Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBA). These are the same coaches who made Little Kicks Soccer a major success since its opening in 2009. Are OTs or Aides allowed to attend the classes and participate? Each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For insurance purposes, the person accompanying the player must be at least 18 years of age. Are you going to allow parents to participate or will you have buddies available? This is going to be a parent participation class. Our philosophy is that you know your child best. You know what works for them and what their triggers are as opposed to a buddy or volunteer. Will the use of visual cues be incorporated to help facilitate class? The class will be structured using a picture schedule to depict the sequence of activities students will complete. Parents and students are welcome to revisit the schedule, as needed, throughout the class. Will you be utilizing your PATCH program that you use in Little Kicks Soccer? Absolutely! We are big believers in positive reinforcement and because of that, we award kids soccer patches at the end of each class. Each patch means something special. There are patches for listening, hustling, sharing, teamwork etc.. These patches can be ironed onto your childs complimentary shirt so that they can be displayed as a badge of honor. Where will this program be offered ? This winter we are going to do a few pilot classes in Marlton, Westampton and Robbinsville and in the spring of 2015, we will hopefully add classes in Sewell and Princeton. How do we register for the program? You can register on LittleKicksSoccer.net. Go to “Class Schedules” and select “Private Program”. You will need to type in the code “CHAMP1” , select a class and proceed with the registration from there. Payment is due at the time of registration.
