The Chemistry Between Them. A new play brings to life the surprising friendship between former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and Nobel Prize-winning scientist Dorothy Hodgkin. Margaret was taught chemistry by Dorothy in the 1940s at Somerville College, University of Oxford. Royal Holloway lecturer Adam Ganz explores the fascinating story of the politician and the crystallographer over a 40-year period and the events that would put their life-long relationship to the test. Aired to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dorothy Hodgkins Nobel Prize, the play will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 at 2.15pm today: ow.ly/AtMBM.
