The Christian is saved through faith, how it was used in the Old - TopicsExpress

The Christian is saved through faith, how it was used in the Old Testament. Keeping the law, has not led to heavenly bliss. There is only salvation for them - with sincere repentance for their sins - and have established their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no difference of opinion as possible, if one wants to listen to the scriptures, because, it states that no flesh shall be justified by works of the law, Romans 3 verse 20, but also, verse 28, which states : Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law . In Galatians 2 verse 16, Paul repeats this text in front of many Jewish people : Knowing that a man is not justified by the works , of the law , but by the faith of Jesus Christ .... for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified . We see these texts back, in Galatians 3 verse 11 and Romans 4 verse 6, and Ephesians 2 verses 8 and 9. The question is: What is the ratio of the Christian to the law, in everyday life? We see two remarkable things, there are Christians who see the law as a commandment imposed, that we have to accomplish, in gratitude for salvation. There are also Christians who consider the law, if not applicable to Christians, they want to live only on the basis of grace. Because both the one and the other view, found in sincere Christians, and they sincerely try to live in, it is good to see what Gods Word says, of the law. We know that has been given the law at Mount Sinai, Exodus 19 verse 20, to the people of Israel, after it was freed from slavery in Egypt, Exodus 12 verse 14. Before that time, was not present, the law, it appears, from what says Paul in Romans 5 verse 13 , For until the law sin was in the world : but sin is not imputed when there is no law . Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses , verse 14 . So there was a period, before the law, which has prevailed, death. That is, the law from Moses, is also evident from the fact that it is said of him that he gave the law, John 1 verse 17. To declare the law applies retroactively from Adam, has no basis in Scripture. Now the question remains , why the law is given . That question, says Paul, literally, in his letter to the Galatians: Why, then is the law? Galatians 3 verse 18. Immediately, he himself gives the answer ; It was added because of transgressions . That is, sins that were there all the time, even now, be charged extra heavy, because, by committing a sin is violated, an express commandment. An appeal to ignorance is no longer possible, because, what is sin, is precisely defined in the law. That means that everyone knows what he does, and should not do, to live by it. The purpose of the law, in brief, is as follows: The man that doeth them shall live thereby , I am the Lord emphasizes that, to be connected with him, is to be held, the law . Has anyone ever come into contact with God, on the basis of keeping the law? Has anyone ever gotten, life, through his law aspiration? The testimony of Scripture, taught clear: no one is righteous (before God) than all who come short of the glory of God, (and) therefore can not enter into the glory of God, Romans 3 verse 23. However, there has been a man who has earned, life, Jesus Christ the righteous. He has held perfectly the law. But, what we see in him? He has to make Himself into a curse, which is part of anyone who does not persevere in all that is written in the book of the law, to do that, Galatians 3 verse 10 to 13. Tomorrow , part 2 .
