The Church Introduction: There are over 3000 different denominations in existence today. Is it no wonder people are confused as to which church is the true church? Well does it really matter who we fellowship with don’t all church worship the same GOD? How can we clear up this confusion and establish which church is the true church? God has not left us without guidance. I will build My church Christ’s church Built by Christ Matt 16:18; Acts 20:28; 1Pet. 2:5; Eph 2:19-21 Referred to as the church that belongs to Christ Romans 16:16; Cor 1:2; Heb 12:22-23 Started on the day of Pentecost Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 2:33, 47 We find in the Bible only one Church It is referred to the Body Eph 1:20-21; Col 1:18, 2:19; Eph 4:4 Strife started in the first century. 1 Cor.1:11-13; Gal 1:6-8; 2Cor 11:4 How did the one body become many? Setting up of false teachers and false apostles Acts 20: 28-31; 1Tim 4:1-3; 2Tim 3:1-7, 13, 4:1-4 Well how did we get to where we are today? Elders over many churches Arch Bishop Church autonomy removed Division over who should be the head of the church on earth Additions and subtractions to worship Does it really matter? Matt 15:8-9 Can the church Jesus built exist today? YES! The bible gives order of worship Continuing in the apostles doctrine Acts 2:42; Gal1:6-9 Breaking of bread Acts 20:7; 1 Cor 10:16, 11:20-29 Singing Eph 5:19; Col 3:16 Prayer Giving 1Cor. 16:1-2 (free will giving) The bible gives the offices, leadership, of the church Elders, Bishops, Pastors, Overseers, Shepherds 1Tim 3; Titus 1 Deacons 1Tim 3 Teachers, Preachers, Evangelists Eph 4: 11-12; 1Cor 12:29 Members As we find the first century church in the New Testament so it can exist today. Conclusion: In the beginning there was only one church built by Christ Man has been the cause of division in the church We can worship as the church in the first century today.
