As you get older do you really need to be taught why? Because you love them and respect them as your parents; that’s why. They’ve loved and taken care of you. What are the type of things good parents tell their children to do? Do your best, read your Bible, be neat, clean-up after yourself, get a job, stay away from that, watch your tone, help out, keep from that person, be responsible, don’t lie, pull your pants up, cover those up, speak up, don’t waste, be considerate, be careful, be home on-time etc... What’s bad about that? These things benefit you. Respect their wishes and obey them because it is right to do so. In this respect, life is simple. Never do anything that will hurt their heart. You don’t intentionally treat people you love that way. As sons and daughters of God, this same truth applies.
