The City Council of New York has voted to raise the minimum age to purchase cigarettes from 18 to 21. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who has passed several laws limiting access to unhealthy products, said he will sign the legislation, which will officially go into effect in six months. Your Thoughts....Is this the right thing to do? If you think so, would it be OK to bump the smoking age to 25? How about 30? Does it bother you at all that people can join the army and get married – but might not be able to buy a pack of cigarettes?
