The Cleveland Speedway was sold yesterday. As much of a gear head that I am, Im not into dirt track racing. But I grew up hearing those races, spending time at my Grandparents house near it, which is where I live now, and its part of my life. My family has been in this location since the 40s. I hope the GA man that bought it keeps it a racing venue. I hate progress and we have entirely enough strip malls, cheap apartments, churchs lame restaurants in town. We dont need anymore. Theres so much traffic on this road already. People driving 60 on a 30 by my house everyday. Its just something I feel strongly about and wanted to say so. That track has been there since 1954 and I hope it stays. I hope it doesnt end up being set of apartments that fall apart in 2 years or a mundane strip mall. Useless words falling on deaf ears... Most likely.. But I wanted to express this before another Park Terrace Apartments ends up being there. And my neighborhood becomes a place I no longer want to be.
