The Climbing Part of the Festival: We are very pleased to announce that Tim Hakim and Jon Punshon who are both experienced climbing instructors have kindly offered to run introductory sessions. The climbing venue for the sessions on the Saturday will be Bowden Doors. Please note that there will be a booking system for the sessions for climbers to sign onto on the Friday night / Saturday morning at the Blue Bell so instructors and potential students know what they are doing when and for how long on the Saturday. There will be top roping sessions best suited for outdoor climbing novices which will offer a save introduction to climbing on real rock. If there is interest by intermediate level climbers, then there could also be sessions arranged around basics of placing gear or principles of building belays, carried out at ground level. This will be assessed by the instructors on the day. Also, there will be a number of people from the local climbing clubs out at the crags who would be happy to team up with sole climbers and give advice on route choice etc..
