The Comforter “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me”. - John 15:13-16[NLT] We all from time to time need someone to comfort us, we daily go through different issues that sometimes all we need is just a shoulder to lean our tired heads on, or someone to feel our pain, however often times, we don’t get such comforts because we are looking in the wrong direction. In one of His last teachings, Jesus introduced the Holy Spirit to His disciples, He told them, that He will not leave them comfortless but will send the Holy Spirit to as our comforter. Through the Holy Spirit we have access to the help we need to fulfil our God ordained purpose and live a victorious life. Just as the disciples couldnt fully understand and comprehend the work of the Holy Spirit, many believers today still do not understand the person of the Holy Spirit and His work in our lives. Jesus tried to help them by describing several specific things the Holy Spirit would do. He would come - this was a word of movement and action, for the Spirit is alive and active. He is present everywhere: in our lives, in the lives of other believers around us, and in the hearts of men and women throughout the world. The Spirit guides and teaches. He speaks and hears. He has a voice. He communicates and listens. He discloses. He reports and makes things known. He doesnt just collect information or hold on to power: He shares it! He gives it to us! We need to remember that He is always with us, and He is active. He will help us make decisions, give us understanding, teach us, prepare and warn us, and give us wisdom and power. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to fill us, so that we will be able to fulfill our God ordained destiny here on earth, we cannot do without the help of the Holy Spirit, He is the Spirit of truth, of counsel, might, wisdom and knowledge. Isaiah 11:2. Right now, the Holy Spirit is with you! More than that, Hes available to reveal Jesus Christ to you, comfort you and fill you with His power! As we begin another weekend today, let Him empower you, fill you, and use you for His glory and honour, He is ever ready to help you. Shalom. Have a wonderful weekend! Confession Come Holy Spirit I need You , Come Fill me afresh, I need your presence in my life, Spirit of counsel, might, truth and wisdom, saturate my life with your power!
