The Commonwealth Fund report rates the NHS as the best among leading healthcare systems. (NZ is 7th) This US-based think tank has compared data from 11 nations and has ranked the NHS as first in almost every category including quality of care and efficiency (The Commonwealth Fund: Mirror, mirror on the wall). The US is ranked the worst (despite being the most expensive in the world). This provides an intriguing insight, with ranked tables for quality of care, access of care, efficiency, equity, healthy lives and expenditure per capita.
