The Crawford Fund Fellowship for Agricultural Researchers in Developing Countries The Crawford Fund Fellowship is open for nominations of agricultural scientists maximum 35 years of age from select developing countries. The fellowship aims to provide further training in agriculture, fisheries, forestry or environmental protection as per the fellow’s potential and requirement. The Crawford Fund is a non-profit NGO raising awareness of the benefits of international agricultural research to developing countries and Australia. The fund considers international Agricultural research as one of the most effective ways Australia can support the developing countries (their farmers, their environment and their economics) that are mostly dependant on the land resources for food security. The fellow shall spend up to three months at an Australian institution to be trained on agricultural research and resource development. The training will emphasize the application of knowledge to increased agricultural production in the fellow’s home country. Eligibility Criteria: -Candidate must be the citizen of and be working in one of the following developing countries- Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, Cambodia, East Timor, Fiji, Indonesia, Laos, Nepal, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Kiribati, Vanuatu, Vietnam; below the age of 35. -Nominees must be actively engaged in the practice of some aspect of agricultural research or extension and may be undertaking formal postgraduate study. -Nominations must be made by two proposers, and the first proposer must be an Australian. The second proposer should be the Officer-in-Charge of the nominee’s Institute, Department, etc. -Self nominations are not accepted.
