The D769 Itezhi-Tezhi Mongu junction road has been a menace and a cry of all residents in Itezhi-Tezhi. The road which is in a deplorable state has had its share of potholes and gulleys and many have been a critic of the D769 road. However there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel or in this case tar at the end of the gravel. Government has engaged a contractor to work on the D769 and the contractor was today in the district for meetings with stake holders and site review. Build Trust construction (Z) LTD is the company contracted to work on the road. Company representative Matakala f says the meeting with the Chief Kaingu, headmen, District Administration and council was a success. Mr Matakala says the meeting was meant to finalise arrangements for the site. He says all the equipment is supposed to be on site within the next two weeks after the clearing of the site. Mr Matakala says he is also in touch with Itezhi-Tezhi Member of Parliament Greyford Monde who has played his role in pushing for the road works. He adds that the road construction is now a reality and people can look forward to travelling on a better road and that his company is dedicated to delivering standard work.
