The Daily Consumer Radio Newscast The Leaf has been a big pain for Nissan. First nobody bought the things, now they can’t build them fast enough. Dealers have been selling two-thousand Leafs a month -- and the odd thing is, people are clamoring for the electric cars in Dallas, St. Louis, Atlanta and other places we don’t think of as hotbeds of environmentalism. A Pennsylvania couple claims the polyurethane spray insulation in their home is carcinogenic. They’ve filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer. Experts say the stuff is risky to installers but once it’s in place, it’s OK. The feds are proposing new limits for arsenic in apple juice -- no more than 10 parts per billion. What? Arsenic in apple juice? Yep, it occurs naturally and also gets into the environment from pesticides. The new limits are intended to keep things tamped down to a safe level.
