The Daily Mail reports that three out of four people with asthma are unaware they are at risk of a fatal attack because they wrongly believe their condition in under control, according to a survey conducted by Allergy UK. Fifteen per cent of mild or moderate sufferers have attended A&E in the past year, the findings show. More than three-quarters of these uses up to one reliever inhaler a week -when they shouldn’t need to use more than one a month if their disease is well controlled. Did you know that diet can affect the severity of asthma, and by changing what, and how you eat, you could reduce symptoms and be feeling much better, quite quickly? This is what Sarah, one of Polly Douglas, Nutritional Therapists clients had to say following her initial consultation: “I am now three weeks in to my dietary plan and my asthma has almost disappeared. My Hay fever has got so much better as has every other allergy I have had and my tiredness and headaches have gone. I can honestly say this is the best my asthma has felt in years and I can now do the things I have wanted to do.” To book an appointment with Polly in Glasgow, Edinburgh or Giffnock call 0300 790 0131
