The David Calling The prophet Jeremiah declared that, “Many kings shall be raised up from the ends of the earth” (Jeremiah 50:41). These kings are the modern-day Davids, Josephs and Daniels—both men and women whom God is raising up. A few years ago, God began giving me revelations and insights about the quality of kings He will raise up. While He has made us all to be kings and priests (Rev. 1:6; 5:10), to be a king whom He will raise up and honor in unique ways, there has to be something different about you—something that distinguishes you from the average believer. We see this with David, for example, “And when He had removed him (Saul), He raised up for them David as king” (Acts 13:22; Jeremiah 30:9). Why was Saul removed? Well for starters, Saul was the people’s choice. David was God’s choice. God is never impressed with the externals; He looks on the heart. And just as God raised up a David many centuries ago to be king, today, He is raising up a “company of Davids” to be priestly kings whom He will honor to be the ruling spirit in His Kingdom. God wants to transfer authority from the “Sauls” to the “Davids” raising them up to be “the highest of the kings of the earth” (Psalm 89:27). According to Jeremiah’s commission, these Davids will be the kings, rulers and leaders, “who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land” (Jer. 23:5; NIV). -- ApAML The David Company
