The Day of the Deployed, which occurs on October 26th, is a day set aside to remember and reflect on all those who have, are, and will deploy in service to the nation. As of September 13, 2013, more than 2,300,000 Service members have deployed areas of operations since September 11, 2001. What is the Day of the Deployed? Day of the Deployed is an annual recognition and opportunity to HONOR deployed Service members and their Families. It is a day for all Americans to REFLECT on the sacrifices of those Service members and their Families, wherever they serve, - past, present, and future. Day of the Deployed ceremonies and activities encourage all Americans to OBSERVE the day and show their gratitude.
