The Denon SC3900 CDJ DJ deck. Denon finally created a true digital replacement for the trusty and ever reliable vinyl turntable. At the moment, Pioneer dominate the dj market and have become the industry standard. I must admit, Pioneer make some solid and well equiped CD decks. Quite overpriced if you ask me though. Going back to the Denon. They became experts in rack mounted studio cd decks several years ago and Pioneer was not in sight as a studio standard setup when it came to cd technology. In recent years, Denon has been massively overlooked. I think, Denon has really brought technology forward and made switching from vinyl to CD a viable option and at over £500 less than buying Pioneer CDJ 2000 Nexus CD decks. It feels like the release of the Denon DNS3500 CD deck started putting nails in the coffin of the trusty vinyl turntable. Things seem to become a reality with the release of the Denon SC3900 deck. At least, Denon has made it cheaper and easier for old DJs to crossover to the new technology. Does Pioneer deserve to be industry standard? Maybe not.
