The Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Gretchen Corbin has announced the award of over $37.5 million in federal funds to 83 Georgia communities from the U. S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) for the state’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The award presentation will be held Friday, Sept. 6 in Savannah. I am so proud to represent several communities that will receive this funding and they are: City of Butler, City of Reynolds, City of Ideal, City of Vienna, City of Marshallville, Peach County and Macon County. I look forward to attending this ceremony on behalf of all constituents of HD 139!! Now, if you want to learn more about the funds and how they will be used, please read your local newspaper. Each city and county are required to hold a public hearing to inform you of how these grant funds will be administered.
