The Department of Social Services Some of the projects the Department is conducting include; Organizing two Bi-Annual medical camps for the elderly in conjunction with a team of Doctors and the Ministry of Health. An elderly resource centre shall be established in the County. Registering persons with disabilities in the County. The previous registration exercise registered about 4750 persons and created a platform where they raised their concerns and were assisted to acquire National Identity cards.Those who missed the exercise have been urged register at the nearest Social Service office in the County. A mobility Centre will be established in the County. The Department supports Zero Discrimination and Death Campaign that aims at reducing Discrimination against HIV infected persons. It is also working towards coming up with a workplace policy that will ensure that HIV infected persons are comfortable in their work places. The department with the support of the County Governor donated KHS. 210,000 to a HIV positive childrens home.
