The Difference Between Local Rappers & Indie Artist - Local Rappers are SO dope that they NEVER have to pay to perform at concerts or Events. - Indie Artists Pay for it because they understand the investment in graphic design & photography + they prepare their music for paid downloads on iTunes, Reverbnation, SoundCloud, SoundClick, and press up CDs. They also print up T-Shirts to have all of their merch ready to recoup their investment and turn it into a profit. - Local Rappers are SO DOPE that they should get free photoshoots or really cheap photoshoots because its good enough to get promoters & clubs to book them because as well all know...club owners are DESPERATELY looking for local rappers. - Indie Artists link up w/ the Best Photographers and pay full price. They understand you get what you pay for and that eventually there will be a return on the investment - Local Rappers drop singles & mixtapes and tag everyone in it on facebook expecting to get booked for shows - Indie Artists drop singles w/ the cover art ready, shoot the video, plan a single release party, plan the album/mixtape release party, and build their social media presence. - Local Rappers complain about not having enough support publicly and make it known that they want to quit rapping & move out of state. - Indie Artists work 2 or 3 jobs to fund their career, locate investors, continue to build rapport w/ promoters & DJs and get their singles played to a foreign audience.
