The Divine Heart Surgeon There are many aspects of the operating room that are so like our walk with God. Have you ever thought of God, as the head of a surgical team, and your life as the operation? These thoughts came to me early this morning. I saw an operating room busy with activity; it was so like our lives. God had everything under control, if deliverance through the blood were needed it was there. If a fresh supply of oxygen were needed, the wind of the Spirit would start blowing. All you had to do was lay on the table completely at rest in Christ. God, the operating room, and life, it is amazing how similar they are. We are born, we live our life, and we die, under the watchful eye of the Divine Surgeon. Yes, from conception to the grave and beyond to paradise; that is, if we follow the doctor’s prescribed directions, for His directions and therapies are not hard. He never prescribes anything over our ability to perform it. “His yoke is easy and His burden is light.” If a grain of wheat doesn’t fall to the ground and die, it will produce no fruit, and if a heart surgeon doesn’t stop or flat-line your heart, he can’t repair it so you can live again. There are times in our life experience that we can’t seem to make it another step. God steps in and suspends our lives, makes a few attitude adjustments, then awakens us to a new perspective, and we go on to the next level in Christ. No one can put shattered lives, unfulfilled dreams, and wrecked relationships together again, like the divine heart Surgeon. Binding broken hearts, is just one of His specialties.
