The Drummer Story - This is a bit long, but we hope you take the time. So if you have been a friend of ours for any length, you have seen first hand our revolving door of drummers. The cast of characters includes Rob Higdon, Joshua Tarrant, Andrew Whiteman, Jonathan Cornella, Josh Bedore, and Mathew McKenzie. Each of these men has played a vital roll in the success of Random Hero…and Random Hero has played a vital roll in their lives. Joshua Tarrant was not a Christian when he joined RH, but became one shortly after he performed with us at Agapefest. Josh is now a deacon in his church and as many of you know, traveled the world with the Air Force Tops in Blue. Josh also played all the drums on our forthcoming “Oceans of Change” album. Andrew Whiteman has a similar story to Josh. Now, Andrew plays drums in the worship band at our church every Sunday. Jon Cornella was a Christian when we met. We stole him from the worship team at a local mega church. During his time with us, it became clear to Jon that he wanted to get an education in music ministry. In January of next year, Jon is heading to Australia to attend Hillsong College for music ministry. Josh Bedore was only with us a short time, but made such a positive impact. When we met, he had already made a six-month commitment to attend “The 18inch Journey” at A Place for the Heart in North Carolina. He will complete that program in August. Mathew McKenzie was only filling in for a couple shows with us while he was putting together his own faith-based band Torching Tyranny. Matt also plays in the worship band at his church every Sunday. We are so proud of our RH alumni and the commitments they have made to serve an amazing God! With that being said, we wanted to take a moment to introduce you to our new drummer Patrick Madsen. Patty was in a popular local band here in Colorado that broke into pieces. He moved down to Texas after the band broke up. Our manager contacted him to see if he would have an interest in playing with Random Hero, and four days later, he packed up his car, drove to Denver for a couple rehearsals, and left for a 30-day tour. Patty was all-in immediately! If you ask him, just prior to our manager calling him, he had been praying that a door would open with a great band full of the heart of God. It is with great pleasure we welcome Patty into the Random Hero family. Come see us at a show soon and introduce yourself to him. We are sure you will agree Patty is a perfect fit!
