The Ebola issue is as scary as it could be. The Ministry of Health requested for 2 million cedis to prepare against ebola, budget was slashed to 50,000 cedis. Hospitals left on their own to prepare. Some protective clothes and sanitizers have been distributed but not enough. It is even not clear if the protective clothes are the appropriate ones. Unlike preparations for bird flu which was coordinated with a common training manual, Ebola has none. There is not a single isolation ward to keep patients. Politicians say the country is ready so experts and technocrats are quiet even though they know the country is not ready. They dont want to contradict politicians! Physician specialists in individual hospitals have been tasked to do training, so they are preparing their own manuals. If ebola strikes it would be a disaster! Our government! Hmmmm.
