The Embassy of Canada is partnered with Clowns Without Borders Canada to celebrate the Universal Children’s Day in Haiti To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Canadian Embassy has partnered with Clowns Without Borders Canada to organize a show for the young (and young at heart!) at camp Toto’s land in the Tabarre sector of Port-au-Prince. Canada was one of the first donors to come forward to help Haitians to relocate or to repair their damaged houses after the January 2010 earthquake. In January 2014, Canada announced an additional investment of $ 20 million, deposited to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), to support the initiative of relocating of Haitian families. This initiative will contribute to the closure of nearly sixty camps considered the most vulnerable to natural disasters, or located in critical areas such as schoolyards.
