The Embassy of Israel to Ethiopia congratulated Mrs. Sidisse Buli, Ahope Ethiopia Director with the Jerusalem Prize. The organization is the house of hundreds of HIV-AIDS children. Volunteers are a vital part of the team and take an active part in Ahope programs including health care, care giving, and teaching and tutoring English. Volunteers also can contribute their skills in particular areas as music, art or sports Sidisse is working for many years with Prof. Daniel Engelhard from Hadassa Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel, in full cooperation with ART-Joy-Love which is a volunteering program in orphanages in Ethiopia and Uganda. While the ‘ART’ of ART-Joy-Love initially designated the anti-retroviral therapy administered for AIDS, the wellbeing of orphaned HIV-positive children has led to restore the original meaning to ART, with focusing on the development of art skills in talented youngsters as well. Artistic and musical workshops have been made with the assistance and guidance from the embassy.
