The Entree Gallerys nature and wildlife exhibit, "Forest Friends" - TopicsExpress

The Entree Gallerys nature and wildlife exhibit, "Forest Friends" will open on August 1st, and run throughout the month. Inspired by the flora and fauna found at Priest Lake, the mixed-media show will include the works of several northwest artisans. Of special interest will be a one-day demonstration by award-winning artist Janene Grende, who will open the show with techniques of silk dye on silk. Viewers can watch as the dye runs, swirls and blends into pleasing colors, and as Grende explains, "the magical dance of silk dye across the silk begins." "I am mesmerized by its transformation as it dries", adds the artist, "like watching the flames of a campfire". The demonstration will be August 1st, from 10am-4pm. Priest Lake artist Fran Airey will present a workshop on pine needle basketry on August 3rd, from 10am-3pm. The cost is $30, which will include all supplies. Please call the gallery for more information, and to register. Gallery visitors will have several opportunities to meet other regional artists this month, as favorite gallery artists fill the grounds with a vast array of media, subject and design, including quilts, signage, garden art, polymer clay, jewelry, knitted wear, specialty foods, sun screens and original oils. An up-to-date schedule is available from the gallery. The Entree Gallery, located at 1755 Reeder Bay Road in Nordman, is open daily from 10am-5pm. For more information, contact the gallery at entreegallery or on Facebook, or call 208 443-2001.
