The European Court Of Human Rights (ECHR) is now questioning Frances harsh evictions policy. We are highly welcoming the Courts decision to hear the case Hirtu and Others v France about the forced eviction of Romani families in early 2013. The number of evicted Roma migrants in France is rising dramatically. The applicants, that are assisted by ERRC, were among over 21,000 Roma forcibly evicted from their homes by the French authorities in 2013. This was more than double the number of forced eviction of Roma in 2012. 2014 promises to be another record year for forced evictions. Read our press release here:
