The Evil Nanny Video: My Thought. It took me quite a while - TopicsExpress

The Evil Nanny Video: My Thought. It took me quite a while to muster enough courage to watch that heartbreaking video that took over the social media last week. Information gathered has it that the video had more than 7 million views within a short period of release online. I felt deeply pained to watch the defenseless little girl getting dehumanized by the so called nanny. One would be quick to say that the nanny went too far in correcting the child. No woman who wants to become a mother someday would treat another’s daughter in such brutal manner. The girl was kicked, slapped, and the nanny even stood on her back as shown in the video which was recorded on a hidden camera. I learnt that the little girl in question was so beaten that she sustained various degrees of injuries ranging from broken bones, bruises and even damaged spinal chord. Another story though unconfirmed, says the girl lost her life. The nanny is said to be in wheel chair and cannot eat unaided after she was thoroughly beaten up by the little girl’s father. This is one of the many cases of child abuse by nannies that we have heard of. This one would have also happened without being unraveled if not for video evidence the exposed the nanny’s inhuman act on the girl. It is clear now that no one can take care of your children with love as much as you, the mother of the children will. But with the rush for money and career building by couples, employing house helps seem to be the only way to balance it. One won’t say because of events happening around, normal life and the rush to make ends meet should stop. After all, parents are running around to make money to take care of their children. The only problem I have is that the balance between making money and taking care of the home is becoming uneven. Parents nowadays pay more attention to making money, having less time to take care of the home and leaving the job to outsiders to do for them. There is a big difference between the ways our parents trained us in the past and the way we parents of this present time train our children. Back in the days, our parents worked and still found time to train us to be better people in life and that is evident in the ways we have turned out today. But what we get now are parents who largely depend on nannies care. Little wonder bad morals and vices are increasingly found in our children nowadays Let me ask parents, especially mothers these questions: - How do you treat your house helps? - Do you maltreat them? - Do you insult them at will or call them disrespectful names that you would not want others to call your own kids? - Do you train your children to disrespect them? Only you can answer these questions perfectly if you search your heart very well. One thing that you need to know is that up to 70% of cases like this are as a result of the inhuman treatment of nannies by couples (especially mothers of the home). Since you know you don’t have enough time to train your children yourself, treat the nannies with love so that they will not be forced to transfer aggression on your children when you are not around. Yes they will get you angry, yes you will chide them for offences they commit, but, never forget that mistreating them or calling them bad names is simply an invitation of enmity that you are building and your children will be on the receiving end. This may not be acceptable to most readers, especially those who are fond of beating their house helps at the slightest provocation. The truth is bitter but it must be told. May God help us from the plans of the unknown.
