The FREE Gift! HI! The pastor was on the way to church Tuesday morning. He stopped by the local convenience store and got some coffee. When he felt in his pocket to pay for the coffee, he turned red in the face. He remembered that he’d left his money on the night table at home! Jokingly, he said to the manager, “I would ask you to come hear one of my sermons, but I don’t have any fifty-cent sermons.” The manager said, “You go ahead and take the coffee. Perhaps I can come hear you TWICE!” ____________________________________________________ ________SCRIPTURE__________________________________ Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. KJV ____________________________________________________ _______THOUGHT____________________________________ I’m afraid I don’t have any fifty-cent sermons either. Neither do I have any $50.00 sermons. They’re all FREE! The “Spirit” testifies to man’s heart that salvation is FREE! The “bride” (church and individual members) testify also that salvation is FREE! Salvation is FREE because Christ already paid the price! Salvation is the “GIFT of God” (Eph. 2:8)! ANY person may be “justified FREELY by his (God’s) grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” (Rom. 3:24-26) The ONLY thing required to receive this free salvation is repentance and surrender to Jesus as Lord! ”And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” (Luke 9:23) NO! You do NOT have to “clean up” your life first! Salvation is FREE, and CHANGE comes WITH it!! ”Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Cor 5:17) Once a person surrenders to Christ and receives the FREE gift of salvation, that person begins experiencing CHANGE. The change is so that God’s will become OUR will; His desires become OUR desires! “For it is God which worketh IN you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Phil 2:13) Have YOU received God’s FREE salvation!
