The February 14 presidential election is a sure bet for the All - TopicsExpress

The February 14 presidential election is a sure bet for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari. I don’t need a seer to envisage a landslide for the people’s General. The harbinger is clear. Even the bind can see. As a one man squad in 2011, and a standard bearer of a newly registered Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) he garnered 12, 214, 853 votes against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP); even when the defunct CPC had no single political office holder. The PDP at the time had a sitting president with all the paraphernalia of government, 22 governors, numerous senators and reps. The odds against the General in 2011 have withered, it has become a boring mantra to say that he is a religious bigot, he is the sponsor of Boko Haram, he caused the 2011 post-election crises and all those balderdash. He is more popular than in 2011, his political party is widely spread, his support bases are in 22 states and the campaign of calumny against him has been countered. Today he has the support of the press, particularly the vociferous Lagos-Ibadan axis of the Nigerian press. His backers and aficionados are political heavy weights like Tinubu, Atiku, Okorocha, Amaechi, Kwankwaso, Fashola, Audu Ogbe, Gemade, Oshiomole, Amosun, the academia, traders etc., and not forgetting the mass of Nigerians. It is now advisable for Ebele to heed the warning of Father Mbaka to step down before the impeding hours of doom.
