The GOP Says Goodbye to The Kudlow Report A CNBC institution, The Kudlow Report, came to an end last night. Larry Kudlow closed his final episode surrounded by family, friends, and well wishes from prominent GOP leaders. Kudlow, 66, has been with the network for all of its 25 years, and will remain a CNBC contributor. He served in the Office of Management and Budget during the Reagan administration, and his program frequently featured great debates. His final advice was Let us have a three-year Obamacare moratorium. Stop the insanity, call a timeout and go back and get it right. A three-year moratorium ought to be the GOP message during this campaign, or at least one of them. Besides Obamacare, he added, probably the best thing we can do to reinvigorate this economy and get 4 or 5 percent growth instead of 2 percent is full-fledged tax reform. Lowering marginal tax rates for individuals and business would be the single best thing we can do to stimulate, reignite growth, and create new incentives for risk-taking. I also want regulatory reform. I want to unleash the energy boom, which is going to create a couple million jobs at $80,000 apiece. Among those praising Kudlow were: • Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) of the House Budget Committee: Larry has always been a tireless advocate for pro-growth solutions. He has been a good friend and I will miss him. • House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA): Thanks Larry for being a consistent champion for growth. Congratulations on a great run. • Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX): Always enjoyed my visits with Larry. We will miss miss his thoughtful insights every night on economic reform. • Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA): Thanks and best wishes to the insightful Larry Kudlow for terrific analysis. It was truly a great run. • Gov. Mary Fallin (R-OK): I am sad to see it is his last show. I always enjoyed our talks about tax reform and reducing regulations. He has great insights. • Rich Lowry, National Review: We are all in Larrys debt for principled, passionate and civil advocacy for our cause.
