The GOP had a big win last night. No doubt. They seem to think they have a mandate to govern. Id be careful if I were them. The first thing they better figure out is, if there is a mandate, what is it? What did the electorate want from them? Was it purely anti-Obama or was there something deeper expected? Not sure what the national mandate is, but I can tell you what my mandate is, as well as that of many of my friends---left or right. Here it is: Get off your asses and make things better for those who elected you! Dont make things free. Dont make things easy. Do make things right. Get the money, corporate influence and smokey room deals out of the picture. Stop the corporate welfare and cronyism. Stop letting retired legislators become lobbyists because they know best how to corrupt the system further. Stop giving the poor expectation free handouts and start providing a hand up---like training to be productive in career fields that are desperately needed. Stop pushing your nose into my bedroom, classroom, bathroom, conference room, wedding chapel, church, bank account and gas tank. Start pushing your nose into the budget, economy, environment and, by the way, the mirror. What we expect is balanced budgets at home and in government without the smoke and mirrors. We expect our elderly and veterans to be cared for in the manner becoming their respected state. And, by God, we expect the truth to finally be told to us on a daily basis. Im expecting a lot. Im expecting an unrealistic future. But as we expect less, we get less. We cant get much less than what we have gotten over the last generation.
