The Gang of Mekran (GoM so called BLF) By:Durra Khan BLF was formed to fight the oppression of Pakistani Military in Balochistan. Its based in Mekran , but scattered throughout the southern part of Balochistan. The primary and the long term objectives of this organization were to restore the independence of Balochistan from occupiers. However, it has made a U-turn from becoming a freedom seeking entity to a gangster group for selfish and egotistic reasons. The members have forgotten the goals and the mission and became a gang rather than an organization. It sounds more like Blood gang of Los Angeles if you have the familiarity: where you have to present a body part to the leader of the gang in order to join the group. Unfortunately, BLF is comprised of bunch thugs in Mekran region who have very ruthless background such as murders, thefts, robbery and notorious crimes you name it they got it. It became a shelter home for criminals where they can be taken advantage and be used to promote their evil agendas. I am very sad to say that this freedom seeking institute became a blood loving gang, where humanity has no value anymore. It is hurting those who sincerely and faithfully pursuing the cause for freedom. A prime example of the madressah kids where they get brained washed and taught to blow themselves up. This is exactly what happening in Mekran in recent days. The Innocent and ordinary people are getting killed from left to right for no valid reasons, other than the gang thinks that they don’t have the right to live and raise kids. Get this: when gang members die they will be wrapped and buried them with Balochistan flags and their tomb become shrines for like minded pilgrimages. In this organization thugs and thieves become martyrs when they die stealing and when the gang kill an innocent civilian for entertainment and blame it as spy. I am not sure where this society is leading, but I do know its lost without directions. Furthermore, It is beyond my comprehension and conception that a group of ruthless people who kill in the name of freedom. I call them the blot to the name of humanity and freedom. I have read a couple of books if not as many as I want, but thus far, I have not encountered a scenario of any books where group of gang freed a country. Let me tell you that, the history reminds us that freedom is not dependent and reliant to thugs and robbers, but people with logic, common sense, judgment and reasoning. My research on this gang and many stories from victims’ family led me to believe that BLF resemble to Tahreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) where killing innocent can be justified for any reasons. It is very easy to find comparisons between the two gangs since the motivation is to kill innocents. You can distinguish the tactics and devices; however it is very hard to ignore the strategic similarities. I firmly believe that BLF is killed more people in Mekran for personal grudges than the greater good. They kill innocents on daily basis and label the victims as spies. I am just confused to utter the notion that how they become freedom fighters and the rest are terrorists when the victims are innocents died in the same manners. You can draw the lines and conclusions the way you want it between TTP and BLF, but I believe in facts and reality suggests that terrorists are terrorists whether they are operating in the name of freedom in Balochistan or in the name of Sharia (the Islamic Law) in Khyber Pakhoonkawa. The bottom line is that: one group made the Merkran is a living hell and dilapidated it, the other group created Waziristan a misery and a desolated it. Again, you can judge them however it pleases you, but history will judge it with facts and figures.
