The German and Brazilian delegations to the U.N. have opened talks - TopicsExpress

The German and Brazilian delegations to the U.N. have opened talks with diplomats from 19 more countries to draft a General Resolution promoting the right of privacy on the Internet. Close American allies like France and Mexico -- as well as rivals like Cuba and Venezuela -- are all part of the effort. Including Sweden, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland aswell as their NATO companions, Norway and Hungary. This is gonna be interesting. :-) The U.N. draft calls on states to respect and ensure the respect for the rights to privacy, including the privacy on the Internet, as enshrined in the 1976 International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights And it continues. Thank you Edward Snowden? Sometimes civil disobediance might be necessary, even in western countries. Tho I would rather see it work out without it.
