The Global Family Project might be a great thing for Eugene. It provides an easy way for more developed cities of peace to help other cities in need for very low cost. It will also help builds excitement, provide an additional sense of purpose, and build a stronger community here at home. This kind of global connection also can make local/national papers pay attention.The Global Family Project creates: • Two-way relationships: communication, dialogue, support (possibly with your local school children participating) • Low cost: donations make a difference in the hundreds rather than thousands • Increased excitement and global community in your city • International Peace Cities can provide the 501(c)3 for donations Eugene might be interested in helping John Mukhuta build a school for orphans in D.R. Congo. We now have four cities in that war-ravaged country, two of which are building schools (the other is Mabwe Lucien in Fizi, D.R. Congo). These four cities are committed to building schools, educating orphans, and providing support for women who have been used as objects of war.
