The Government is being held hostage by power barons and economic elites who call the shots and dont give a damn about the struggling public. On the other hand, the alternative Government engages more in theatrics and comedy than it engages in issues. Even where the Opposition has issues, the other biggest challenge is how to put it across. They simply tell the populace what the populace wants to hear. Populism is their tool of trade. I watched the Kibera CORD rally regrettably turn into a Raila and Kidero affair. If it was not about I talked to Jakom...Jakom is coming back on 31st... then it was Kidero must respect the party and stop working for Jubilee.... T J Kajwang and Jakoyo literally hurling abuses in their mother tongue on microphone in broad daylight on National TV... The upshot of this is to mean we need a third force. The third force must not be the NGO who demonstrate as much as their sponsors pay. The third force must be the struggling members of the public who even if they decide they sit pretty in their homes, they would still die out of famine, stress of joblessness, bad governance etc. The third force must identify the issues they need to address urgently and demand these issues are addressed NOW.
