The Grand Marshal at this years Gasparilla parade is Master Sgt. Christian MacKenzie. In 2004, he was severely injured when a rocket-propelled grenade hit his helicopter in a mission over Iraq. He suffered a traumatic brain injury, and still to this day, there are pieces of shrapnel in his arm and head. MacKenzie was not expected to survive – but he did. He is an incredible example of American courage, and we hope you share out this interview we did with him.
