The Great Whale Conservancy gives a Tip of the Fluke to Panama! Panama’s proposal to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regarding the adoption of new traffic separation corridors designed to protect humpback whales from commercial ships has been unanimously approved. It’s a great decision for the whales and clearly demonstrates the understanding and respect the people of Panama have for balancing their economic use of territorial waters with “non-commercial” needs, such as protecting critical great whale habitat.
