The Greater Cincinnati Harmony Festival is a unique and comprehensive a cappella harmony music program for junior high and high school students who likes to sing. Youll love learning the intricacies of singing four-part a cappella harmony in the Barbershop style. Its a style of singing that can be applied to all types of music - contemporary hits, show tunes, oldies, country, spirituals and more. Campers stay in the dorm on a college campus in the Cincinnati area, and spend 3 days learning about good vocal technique in the context of 4-part harmony. In three days, youll get professional vocal music education, rehearsals, and coaching by top music educators and barbershop experts. Youll learn harmony basics, singing technique, choreography and performance skills. Youll star in a Show with other award-winning barbershop singers on Saturday night - a Show that is open to your family, friends and the public. Perhaps best of all, youll meet lots of other young women and men who enjoy singing. Required Preparation... Once you register for the Festival, you will receive sheet music and a learning CD for four songs - the Young Womens Chorus and Young Mens Chorus will each learn three songs, and one song will be sung in a big Combined Chorus. You will want to know these songs in a voice part of your choice before the Festival. Register as early as possible so you will have plenty of time to learn your music. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Overnight Stay fee is $195.00 for registrations received by May 15, 2014 or $225.00 after May 15, 2014. Day Campers (without lodging) fee is $145 if registered by May 26, or $175 after May 27, 2014. Sponsorship information is available upon request.
