The Guardian described the Better Together tactics as no more than scaremongering over a currency Union and therefore the related mortgages and pensions, and from the outset that has been their aim, regardless of the effect on pensioners this would have. An article in the Guardian ( 12th Sep) - (a unionist newspaper) describes how Alastair Darling, a backbench Labour MP with absolutely no power to do anything in Government, persuaded George Osborne to reject a currency union - described as economic vandalism by the economists at the time -Mervyn King (previous Governor of the BoE, described it at the time as a Campaign Tactic The Sterling Zone relies heavily on Scottish exports for stability and inward investment but the NO campaign now seem to rely on unionist propaganda, from a second rate unionist newspaper ( Daily Record) to convince people of doom and gloom. After actually understanding the ramifications of not having a Currency Union on the rUKs economy, and now knowing that it is no more than a Better Together scare tactic, are people still being fooled by this idiocy? economywatch/world_economy/united-kingdom/export-import.html
