The Hall Family has a rich history of public service in Maine. On - TopicsExpress

The Hall Family has a rich history of public service in Maine. On this snowy Saturday, I spent enjoyable time reading the local histories of Windham, Gray, and Buckfield, all of which have extensive Hall Family info. I was proud to read of my 6th great-grandfather, Stephen Hall, who is buried in Portlands Eastern Cemetery and represented Windham before statehood in the Massachusetts General Court. His son, Daniel, my 5th great-grandfather, was Windhams first representative to the new Maine Legislature in 1820 and 1821. There he served with his cousin, Enoch Hall of Buckfield (son of Hatevil Hall III). Enoch served in the Revolution and was an early and respected settler of Buckfield. He helped draft the Maine Constitution before serving as well in the first Maine Legislature (then meeting in Portland).
